Storage and guest cleanup
How to keep access and when temporary workspaces can be removed.
Updated: 1 November 2026
Keep your access
A guest workspace is temporary. Save an Account key in your password manager to return on other devices and protect it from automatic guest cleanup. Browser access and stored content have different lifetimes.
Guest cleanup periods
Inactivity is measured from the creator’s last authenticated use. Once eligible, deletion takes place in a successful cleanup run, rather than at an exact guaranteed time.
- Empty guest workspace: eligible after seven inactive days, once no valid browser session remains.
- Unpublished guest drafts: a 30-day grace period starts after 90 inactive days; cleanup can begin afterwards.
- Workspace secured with an Account key, or containing a published page: excluded from automatic guest cleanup.
- Valid sessions and uploads in progress hold automatic cleanup.
What resets the clock
Using your workspace again before deletion begins restarts the inactivity period. Visitors using your published pages do not restart it. Saving an Account key removes the workspace from automatic guest cleanup.
Browser sessions can expire sooner
A browser session normally lasts up to 30 days and renews with use. Clearing cookies or letting the session expire may remove access before your content is deleted. Without another working access method, recovery cannot be promised.
The Account key is your secret credential. The account reference alone is not enough to sign in. Never send your key to support.
What deletion removes
Account deletion removes associated drafts, publications, responses and images. Page deletion removes that page’s publications and responses. Shared image files may remain in the workspace when other documents or retained history need them.
Technical failures are retried; deletion can remain pending until database and image cleanup finish. Provider recovery copies expire separately. We cannot recall copies other people have already saved.
